SAS direct flight SFO-CPH is finally here!

Here is SAS CEO Rickard Gustafson together with crew at the ceremony before departure from Copenhagen.

 

 

 

 

When the first Airbus A340 arrived at SFO from Copenhagen SAS was welcomed by a water cannon salute!

One day after arriving, SAS hosted a seminar to celebrate their inaugural flight from CPH SFO, where members from the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce and other Scandinavian-American related businesses people was invited. The seminar was led by Rickard Gustafson, President and CEO, SAS Group and followed by a question and answer session.

They shared their insights from their latest corporate journey of a financial crisis, nearing a bankruptcy, what saved them and the strategy behind turning it around and how to create a #1 Airline in the Industry.”Inspiring story indeed”, thought SACC board member Johanna Nilsson.

 

 

 

She continues: “Many of us Bay Area people have been looking forward to this flight. The trip will make it much easier and faster to travel. Down size, cost control, renegotiated union contracts, and having a staff dedicated to turning the situation around… SAS is heading to great destinations, on time! With the departure times, direct flights, personalized service, use of technology, 100% next generations airplanes, on-board WiFi and expanded reach through new routes and partnerships  -  it will be easier for everyone, no-matter age, to go places.”

The direct flights started the 8th of April and will depart 6 times a week SFO-CPH with SAS!

Swedes Award Achievers

 

On Friday evening, March 8th, the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce for San Francisco and the Silicon Valley (SACC-SF/SV) held its third Swedish Bay Area Awards Banquet and Ball honoring entrepreneurs at the Julia Morgan Ballroom, high atop the old Merchant’s Exchange on lower California Street.
