SACC is looking for an Events & Sponsorship Intern

Overview
The Swedish American Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco & Silicon Valley is excited to offer an internship position at the office in San Francisco during 1st half of 2025.

Since 1948 we have been a leading facilitator of transatlantic trade and knowledge sharing between Sweden and Northern California. Our longstanding presence and reputation in San Francisco give us deep local roots and a unique understanding of the Bay Area business environment as it intersects with Swedish business.

Job Description
The Events & Sponsorship intern's role includes planning, organizing and executing activities such as business seminars, networking events, and speakers events. The intern will plan, produce, deliver and follow up program activities that are hosted by SACC-SF/SV and in collaboration with other partners. This includes generating and evaluating event ideas, creating events, marketingproposals, budgeting, time lines, writing post-event reports and more. The Event & Sponsorship intern will also be focusing on researching ideas for new events and promotion strategies.

A lot of focus this spring will be to work on our Forest Innovation Summit and all the tasks that are related. The first edition of the Forest Innovation Summit was held in 2022.

It is also expected that several business delegations will come from Sweden and the job will include preparing suitable visits for these delegations and to support and guide them when they are in the Bay Area.

Required Qualification

• Higher education within Finance, Business, Marketing, Project Management or equivalent
  
• Related work or extracurricular experience
  
• Structured, creative, outgoing personality, salesmanship and initiative skills
  
• Teamwork and leadership skills
  
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, flexible attitude
  
• Service-minded
  
• Excellent verbal and written skills in Swedish and English

• Experience of digital marketing and building a membership organization
  

This is a 6 month internship beginning in January 2025. The internship has no monetary compensation, as SACC-SF/SV is a non-profit organization. As an intern abroad, you may apply for scholarships. Some students, depending on the university program, might also be eligible to receive student aid from CSN.
SACC‐USA will assist with the visa application. You must be a Swedish citizen eligible for a J-1 visa to be considered for this position.

Job Description
ProGuard Security Services is seeking a Marketing Intern to join our team and contribute to our expanding
business model.

Candidates should be dynamic, outgoing, driven, and able to get along with all personality types. The successful
candidate should be a self-starter but know when to ask questions while executing assigned tasks completely and
accurately. The successful candidate will be interested in growth within the organization, willing to make the
commitment to learn the business, and ultimately execute at a high level in a fast-paced environment. This is a
paid Internship position.

Responsibilities
Create online content and presence, based on the company’s brand positioning and audience insights. Tell creative
and compelling stories to educate audiences about security services.
Initiate online marketing campaigns, such as user-generated content campaigns, to drive traffic and sales.

Develop web content for the company’s website. Initiate social media outreach campaign through platforms
such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

Generate content, newsletter, marketing material, video content etc. Create and manage the editorial calendar to
ensure timely publishing.

Contribute critical feedback to streamline project management and content creation.
Work on the development of an industry conference.

Qualifications
• Passion for content marketing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Evidence of good judgment, creativity, curiosity, and perseverance in past work or academic background.
• Ability to analyze audiences and develop strategic insights.
• Strong project management skills to finish multiple tasks in a tight deadline.

Stipendiet är en unik möjlighet att få inblick i svensk-amerikanskt näringsliv under 12 månader, i världens tech- och innovationscentrum. Som stipendiat kommer du huvudsakligen arbeta inom följande områden; ansvara för att skapa och driva event, seminarier och andra affärsprogram samt driva medlemskapsrekrytering och ansvara för medlemsvård. Stipendiater arbetar i ett team på kammaren och får en möjlighet att utöka sitt nätverk i en unik del av världen.

VEM KAN SÖKA STIPENDIET? 

Som stipendiat kommer du huvudsakligen arbeta inom ett av följande områden: affärsrådgivning, medlemskapsrekrytering och medlemsvård, marknadsföring och kommunikation eller evenemang och affärsutveckling av verksamheten. Erfarenhet av projektledning och eventplanering är meriterande. Du skall vidare antingen studera, vara mantalsskriven, och/eller ha en nära anknytning till Uddevalla eller Trollhättans kommun.

STIPENDIEGÅVAN

Stipendiesumman uppgår till 200.000 kronor.

TILLTRÄDESPERIOD 

Tillträde sker i Augusti 2024 för 12 månaders praktik på Svenska Handelskammaren i San Francisco & Silicon Valley.
