Klas Berghede has a passion for transforming industries and has spent the last 16 years reinventing the ways large construction projects are delivered around the world. Mr. Berghede is joining our Board to bring his energy, perspective, and expansive network in brick and mortar industries. He is excited to help broaden SACC’s exposure to construction, construction tech and beyond. The potential of promoting Swedish ideas and technology in the American construction community is tremendous and especially timely with exponential growth in investments over the last few years.
Professionally, Mr. Berghede was responsible for the recently completed $1.5B signature Sutter/CPMC Hospital project downtown San Francisco and is a leader in supply chain integration and Integrated Lean Project Delivery. Mr Berghede is working with numerous professional and public research entities and universities to promote industrialization and production planning in the construction industry. He is most known in the industry for his work developing a production system for large construction projects that is used for Hospital and Commercial projects throughout the USA, Europe and South America.
Mr. Berghede makes an example of working with both senior leadership and workers to promote open communication and eliminate ‘assumption-based decision-making’ with a demonstrated track record of strategic planning to eliminate waste and optimize production and challenge status quo. In these efforts, Mr. Berghede often refer back to his experiences in Sweden working as both a construction worker and a few years with Volvo Cars.
